Airdrie Driving School has recently been purchased (May, 2010) by 8 year Airdrie resident Janet Jefferson. Janet began her career in driver education in 2000 as a class 5 driving instructor. Six months later she had an opportunity become an independent contractor, owning and operating her own driver training car. In the same year she also acquired her class 6 instructor’s license to teach new riders the ins and outs of riding motorcycles safely as well. In 2003 she had an opportunity to start working with the former Airdrie Driving School owner Glen Waddell. Within the next couple years she also worked towards getting her Class 1 and 3 (Truck) instructors’ licenses and acquiring them in 2004. Later that year she also acquired her Class 2 instructor’s license.

In 2005 Janet decided to open a motorcycle school in the S.E. quadrant of Calgary, Fast Trac Safety Training, while working as a Class 5 instructor for Glen at Airdrie Driving School. In Jan 2010 Fast Trac Safety Training opened up a new office on the east side of Airdrie and so moved in Airdrie Driving School when Janet purchased the school from Glen. Out of this new office Janet’s companies are proud to offer, not only government approved Class 5 and 6 driver training, but certifiable ATV and UTV training courses as well.

At Airdrie Driving School, and our sister company Fast Trac Safety Training, we are 100% focused on customer satisfaction. Our teams aim is to not only have our students pass the government road test minimums, but surpass them; it’s not about having us vouch that the students qualify for a insurance reduction certificate, but that they learn the skills necessary to best avoid needing to make an insurance claim. Everyone is committed to ensuring that all of the students are instilled with the lifelong skills and the confidence they need to drive safely for years and years to come.

For the team here at Airdrie Driving School it’s about teaching the students the skills necessary to navigate not only densely populated city traffic, but rural driving situations as well. The focus is to build good judgement and skills that can be used to make a life time’s worth of safe decisions.

The lessons provided here at Airdrie Driving School will help provide a good foundation for successful driving but it is also the responsibility of the student and the people around them to uphold safe driving practices before, during, and beyond their time at Airdrie Driving School. For example the government of Alberta HIGHLY RECOMMNENDS that for every 2 hours worth of professional driving instruction the student does an additional 4 hours of practice on their own time. This additional practice time is to reinforce the skills learned in the relatively brief amount of time spent learning new skills and ensure that when the student is in their own they can adequately make safe decisions.

At Airdrie Driving School we genuinely care about the welfare of our students both during, and after the completion of their driving lessons. The gift of independence and the growth of our students thereafter is a large driving force of why we do what we do here at Airdrie Driving School.
